My Erasmus+ en Romania by Marcos Francisco Romo

  TRAVEL TO ROMANIA

      The distance that separated us was great, as well as the desire to travel. We left Badajoz, along with the teachers who have accompanied us in this exchange and our parents, who gladly took us to the Lisbon airport. The plane left at 7:00 p.m. and we arrived in Bucharest at 02:00. Although the trip was long, it was also entertaining. The boys slept with  teacher Monica and Jimena with teacher Montse.
      The next day, in the morning we were visiting Bucharest. I was impressed with their buildings. We ate hamburgers from McDonald's on the train, because we wanted to take advantage of it to see as many things as possible. The journey was also a bit long ...

Learning with the NGO "Entreculturas"

Children and adolescents are protagonists of peace building.

      We carry on working on conflicts resolution within the Erasmus + Project. On May 10th, fouth, fifth and sixth grade  students have participated in the workshop "Children soldier" of the NGO "Entreculturas".
      Thousands of children participate in armed conflicts suffering from abuse, used to commit violent acts, losing the right of education, protection, food, or their development from the game and fun.
      Facing these real situations the children learn the importance of listening  two sides of a conflict and how each person is responsible of peace building.

Third training meeting

      From 7 to 11 May, the third training meeting took place within the Erasmus project "Writing our history. Creating our planet" in the Colegiul Calistratat Hogas of the city of Piatra Neamt (Romania).

      The theme of training was "conflict resolution and mediation".

Cooperative group in Kinderganden

      During  the second school term 4 years old children  have been learning about Prehistory. They have been working in  cooperative work as long as they can.  Worksheets  and posters  created by the children have been used  to work all the aspects related to  life, feeding and animals of the prehistory. All students have contributed to elaborate all the works using different plastic techniques.
In the English lessons they have been making  a “Stonehenge”  model with blocks made by reusing milk bricks.  They have learned to reproduce this  megalithic monument in a  very funny  way.

Human ages Big books

      We have made four big books to learn about the different ages of  History. Pre-school students have fun studying prehistory (houses, tools, clothes..). Primary students learnt about the History from Roman peaple, passing through Middle Age  to the Modern Age. The pupils looked for information, read texts and drew t to create the big book. We always worked in cooperative works, diveded in groups to do a better learing.

An Ancient Age play

      We can enjoy at the school theatre learning about History. The romanian students showed us a great way to discover how people lived at the Ancient Age. We can see Romans, Greeks or Egipts telling us their problems and style of life.

HiStories across Time - Romania

“Memories of My Childhood”

          This is a auto-biographical novel by the Romanian author Ion Creangă. It depicts, in an original way, the adventures of a 19th century Romanian boy, who lives in the countryside with his family and childhood friends. All this are presented in a detailed and funny way, transporting the children in a colorful world.

“A Visit”

            A sketch by the Romanian author Ion Luca Caragiale, “A Visit”, tells the story of a visit paid to a middle-class family by a family friend. The main character of the story is Ionel ( Johnny), a spoilt kid who makes all kinds of jokes, some of which are rather impolite. This sketch is a funny, humorous story, largely enjoyed by children and adults alike.

”Robin Hood”

    A book for children of all ages, ”Robin Hood” tells the story of a famous outlaw who lived in England during the time of Kris Henry the Second, in Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham. Besides the adventures of Robin and his band of merry men, the book depicts life in the Middle Ages in a fascinating way, offering a comprehensive picture of that time.

“Iliad, Odyssey” for children

        The story here told has inspired people of all civilizations for nearly 3,000 years. No person should be allowed reach adulthood without having experienced some aspects of Greek classical civilization and these action-packed tales of heroism, humanity, weakness, tragedy and joy are a great starting-point. A sampling of the stories of the Iliad, Odyssey and of other Greek myths and heroes can be the start of a lifetime of fascination.

“Savage Stone Age”

     Throughout this book you will read about the timeline of human evolution and the three prehistoric periods of mankind, how Stone Agers lived, the animals they hunted till becoming extinct. We will also learn more about the food they ate, how they cooked it, about their weird beliefs and gruesome burials, about brainy archaeologists, treasure hunters, accidental discoveries, stone circles legends and mysteries and many other curious facts which won’t let you put the book or reading device down.

”World History – From Its Origins Till 2000”

         

      This is an encyclopedia that presents historical facts worldwide, offering information on different personalities and events. Children can use this book to enrich their knowledge of Pre-History, Ancient times, Middle Ages and Modern era. There are pictures and short texts which can be used to further search for particular details and extra-information.

Carnival in the school

       A great way to have fun using songs and makeup. We learnt about History and sing about old ages. Everybody enjoys the parade.

       This book is an excellent tool to make students reflect on the history of our planet and discuss in class about historical epochal facts and representative characters of their time.

Reading about Human Ages

      We have selected these four titles that will help us to know three out of  the four  Ages of Man.

Chuco, the main character, helps the youngest pupils of the school to study the Prehistory.

        The children of Holidays in           Pompeya will show us the           Ancient Age. 

In Paula and the little King        we travel to the Middle Age.                                        

On the other side of the planet we will travel with the discorers at the beginning of the Modern Age.

    

A Porto, durante il training

First meeting in Porto

      Working on the project before travelling to Porto.  We will participate in the first training meeting of the Erasmus+ Project on January 15th. We have made a movie maker video about our school and our city Badajoz and we are going to show it to the other countries.

      In addition, students will be integrated into the classrooms and they will participate in sports and leisure activities.

      A student of 6ºA, José Manuel, and two classmates of 6ºB, Paula and Salomé, have worked to bring to Porto a work proposal using ICT. In the video you can see how they are creating  the video with  Vicente Tena ( teacher in charge of the ICT) and Montserrat Trujillo.

Encuentro Erasmus plus en Badajoz

    The Erasmus +  European project  started on October, 25th under the title ‘ Writing our History. Creating our Planet’.

     This first meeting took place in our school where teachers  from Porto ( Portugal), Tradate (Italy) and Piatra- Neamt (Romania) were welcomed by all of  the educational community. Our students performed  typical Carnival songs dressed up in their respective costumes and our inspector welcomed them. They  visited all the installations, even the classrooms where the lessons were being developed.

     During the rest of their stay, we showed them our city and Mérida (near to Badajoz), which is one of the most important cities in the world. The Mayor of Badajoz greeted  them and we spent a lot  time trying typical Spanish food and talking about cultural and educative aspects from our countries.
